A.C. Green “Game Plan”
A.C. Green Game Plan curricula is a highly effective tool for helping teens make wise, responsible decisions for their future by choosing abstinence until marriage. A.C. Green’s Game plan curriculum is an eight week structured program for students 12-17 years of age that focuses on wise choices and consequences of risky behavior. The curriculum is currently facilitated by ESHD health educators in E. St. Louis School District 189, Lovejoy School 188 and Charter School High School in E. St. Louis. This project is funded by Illinois Department of Human Services.
Demoiselle 2 Femme
Demoiselle 2 Femme is French for “girls to women”. Demoiselle 2 Femme operates on the P.R.I.D.E. (Power, Respect, Intelligence, Desirable, and Endurance) principals. D2F is an after- school abstinence education program for girls. . The program is successful because it gives young ladies a creative and exciting way to approach abstinence education for female students, ages13-19. P.R.I.D.E. participants are required to attend 40 sessions (1 session per week). These 40 sessions cover the topics such as, abstinence education, etiquette, uniqueness of being a woman, power to choose and the realities of marriage. Parent involvement is strongly encouraged. In addition, parents must attend b-monthly meetings. P.R.I.D.E. also has career development components, During sessions, participants will gain opportunities for career advancement by obtaining academic tutoring, visits to carious colleges, and attending resume’ and interviewing prep sessions.
